Hi, I want to raise this complaint here. I have placed an advertisement to sell my usb audio interface through OLX for Rs.12500 on 19th Sep 2020. I received an OLX chat message immediately and he asked for my contact number. I shared my mobile number and Next day morning I got a miss call from +917099237727. I called him back and he said he is Vikas Patel from Indian army working in airport and staying near Indira Nagar in Bangalore and he tried to reach out me for the OLX advertisment. He then bargained for the item and agreed for Rs.11000 and pay via Google pay. Also he said he will send his father now to my place and asked me to share the location and meanwhile he will pay 1 rupee from an account named Indian army just to confirm. Later he texted me on whatsapp saying that he is waiting in a queue to transfer the amount which was not convincing for me. I started suspecting him and just searched in Facebook for his profile by any chance. I got surprised to see many complaints about similar cases with same name vikas patel indian army fraud. And when I searched in Google, there were many more cases about Vikas Patel OLX user army person. Then I polietly messaged him saying that I have fixed a better deal with my friend to sell this item and apologized him. Then he tried to call me many times directly and through whatsapp as well and I didn’t pick his call to see what level he will go to. At last I picked his call and he said he waiting in the queue to transfer the amount and why you are not picking the call and he said his father already started to my place. I again apologized and said I can’t sell this as had a deal with my friend already. He asked me to check my account as he transferred 1 rupee through Google pay. I said I will transfer it back immediately if it’s credited to my account. When I checked my bank account and Google pay transaction details, I couldn’t find and I conveyed the same to him polietly. He asked me to check my whatsapp message and I found a QR code mentioned 1 rupeee at the bottom. He asked me to scan it to view his transaction. Then I affirmed that he is a “FRAUD”. I asked him to which place his father is coming as I have not shared my location yet and I asked him to say again what I have to do now as i want to record the conversation. Immediately he disconnected the call. And he is calling me from a diffrent number +919707342971.
