On 24-oct-2022, I took a cab from Raipur Airport to my home. The can was parked in parking and driver asked me to pay INR 50 for parking. He said something on the lines of ola’s parking contract being over. He did pay the money to parking person once I have him 500/- and returned me INR 450. He did not collect any receipt, which seemed odd. I was using airport internet, as I had no internet on my phone . This is important because ola’s response was that I should have checked immediately in the app. When I got back to place where I was connected to internet, saw that I had been charged parking fee already. I tried to provide feedback on Ola app but kept getting ‘ Something went wrong ‘ error. So I called ola customer care number, who assured me that I will be able to ask for refund once I pay outstanding amount. As soon as I did that while still on call, instead of providing steps for me to request refund ( i tried to repeat the same steps which gave me error earlier, and I still got the same error which I conveyed to representative), he said he will call the driver. I inquired that who would you believe given it is driver’s word against mine. He said, they will do due diligence. I got message within 10 min from ola that they cannot help me as it was a cash transaction. I called the driver on his personal number , since he had given me his card. He admitted to taking money but seemed upset as I had complained about him to ola. He said he will check and send me the money. I relayed this message back to ola, bit got a response back telling me that the driver has denied taking money and they cannot do anything.
At this point, I think it is nexus between ola and drivers. Thr driver makes it seem very genuine request and ola has templates reply for those who pursue. Please help me get refund and also getting this driver banned from ola.
