On 25th Jun’2023, I had taken a loan for 5k, of which only 2950/- was the amount credited to my account, interest fee was 50/- and service fee was 2000/-, for a period of only 7 days. When I was trying to make the repayment, I was facing technical difficulties. Then I observed that repayment link was different every time I retried to pay. Had a doubt so I searched and read the reviews online. So many complaints of repayment issues and harassment. Later in the app I found the option for part payment. Tried that and it was successful. 2000/- paid and still showed 5000/- loan amount, with 7 days extended period. Today noon I received a call from unknown number, saying the person was calling from “Ok Rupee”. I asked him to message me the customer care number as well as the link to make the repayment. Today morning (7th Jul’2023) I had received call from my sister informing me that she had received some message including my pic and some other nude pics, mentioning that I am not repaying the loan amount and that my sister is available for sex. Therefore I had deleted the “Ok Rupee” app fearing they would access and misuse my contact details. But to my shock, when I tried to WhatsApp again later at night asking for the repayment link, I saw the message sent to me in the morning, threatening to harass me with the same picture sent to my sister (I sent her the screenshot to confirm). I haven’t been able to find the app in the App Store. Therefore, not able to make the payment. In fact, hopefully all the perpetrators of “Ok Rupee” fraud/scam are made to pay for mental Harassment and Defamation caused to many people. Before this escalates further, requesting the concerned and competent authority to take the needful and quick action.
