As I’m living in Spain – i had applied for safe custody of my Airtel Indian number on 14 Jan. This was supposed to be valid for 90 days and was approved. However, my friend received an sms on 22 March saying that if I don’t pay outstanding dues – my number will be de-activated. As I wasn’t using the sim – there was no question of additional dues – so I wrote to Airtel customer care but didn’t receive any response. Now just recently -I’ve been told my number has been de-activated. Why charge money for safe-custody if you don’t want to honour it.
