Text of Complaint by Manmohan Singh Negi:

In April I decided to change my Internet Service provider as I came across a good deal from Airtel Xstream Fiber. I was told the service would include broadband, DTH, OTT Subscription, and Landline (which was not needed). I had the Airtel broadband activated on my premises on 18th April except for the Landline. After installation, I found the OTT subscriptions are only accessible or available for 3 months. However, I was informed that the OTT subscriptions will keep on getting renewed based on my renewal or extension of the broadband service. I discussed the same with the salesperson I had contacted for this and he mentioned that the company has changed its terms regarding the OTT subscriptions. It is not ethical to change the policy without even informing the customer, that the product or service I am opting for does not include all the benefits mentioned to me. So, I decided to get the services deactivated and called for a refund, to which I was not given any response. On calling customer services repeatedly I finally got a response that our refund would be made after 45 days only. After a long time, I received a refund of Rs 2565 only. On complaining and contacting customer service several times I was informed that the DTH services would not be refunded. Airtel has, again and again, come up with policy changes or hidden policies responding to the wrongly mentioned service details or incorrect refund amount. I availed no service at all and was charged 1435 rs ( for nothing). This is how Airtel is scamming new customers. I have waited a long time. I have invested and in fact wasted a lot of time and effort on this back and forth with the Airtel team including customer service calls, emails (Including Nodal officer, appellate, dthnodal, airtelcare, DigitalTv, 121, etc), and even social media posts asking for response(LinkedIn). Now I am looking for a definite solution to the issue and a full refund and a good compensation amount.
