We booked return tickets from Mumbai to Reykjavik (Iceland) on Makemytrip on 9 Apr 2022. The return leg was on PNR no JE6QK8 : 19 Jun 2022 , British Airways: BA-801 Reykjavik to London at 10:40 hrs and BA-199 from London to Mumbai at 21:25 hrs.
Our flight BA-801 was cancelled by the airline on 18 Jun 2022, 2245hours Reykjavik local time with no option of an alternative. As a result, we also missed the connecting flight BA-199 from London to Mumbai. Makemytrip also did not provide any alternative arrangement and we had to rebook new tickets via Icelandair & Emirates last minute.
Makemytrip has unresponsive to our requests for refund of the ticket ( Case Reference No. 15435374466132352) and British Airways has asked us to contact the travel agent (Makemytrip in this case). They have stated reasons like ‘ you have boarded the flight’ – for a flight that did not even take off on the day.
