“NO WARRANTY” Seagate Surveillance Hard disk sold as a 3 yr Warranty.

This was purchased on 11th Dec 2019 from Amazon.in, which said it had a 3 year warranty. Details of purchase given below.

Hard drive (Serial Number : W5230DT5) was found to be faulty since May last week with a “No disk” error and in this Covid situation Seagate service centre “Inspirisys Solutions” at Secunderabad was closed when I went first time, so second time I’ve visited after a few weeks. Later on I came to know that from the Seagate Service Centre that this drive doesn’t have any warranty and I was asked to contact the “Place to Purchase” (Amazon). Here started the story more than 30 days ago. Then Amazon told that they just can’t accept the print out which was given by the service centre asking me to contact place of purchase and instead wanted an email officially from Seagate with a case number denying warranty of the Hard Drive. So I have contacted Seagate over the phone (0008004401392) and they have sent me an email (Regarding your Case Number : 11334293) as below that this is a part of OEM and they do not cover warranty.  I have forwarded the same email to AMAZON on June 25, and a Case ID (CASE ID : 0574851480) was lodged to investigate the issue from their end with the seller etc. This is a clear case of fraud / cheating the customer irrespective of whether it’s Amazon or thier seller because providing a platform to sell for such people is also encouraging such things because Amazon doesn’t have a policy of verification of warranty for products put for sale.

I am really fed up with Amazon as they have promised to get this issue sorted out by July 2 at the maximum as per their SLA for which I have agreed upon.  I have made multiple calls and only got one answer that we are working on the issue and it might take 3-4 business days every time I call them. Still waited very patiently for 20 days ever since Case ID was filed with Amazon. They have failed greatly in getting this matter resolved even after me escalating and speaking to the Leadership team as well. I don’t have any other go but to file case in the consumer court or to put this on Social Media. Kindly take necessary action and do let me know incase you require any other documentation or proofs as such.
