I encountered MocaMoca app through an ad from Instagram which I got curious of and downloaded it on my phone. I realized it was an online lending app and I just checked on how much the interest and repayment days they offer. As I was putting in my info to check(because you can’t check the details without putting in your infos first), I was shocked as I suddenly received 1800 in my gcash and it shows on my screen that I already have a loan of 2800 to pay! I wanted to cancel it but I don’t see any cancel icon on their app and in the first place I never confirmed the loan but still, they sent money to my gcash. As I don’t know what to do at that time I immediately uninstall the app and search related issues about this app from Google and found out that this app uses the info they obtained when I downloaded their app on my phone. I wanted to return back the money they sent in my gcash but I don’t know how because I’m afraid to install the app again. Comes the due date, I received an email from Moca Moca telling me to pay my loan, I intentionally didn’t answer their calls as I am afraid that they would still be able to access my private information. I told them that I didn’t intentionally loan from them and I am willing to give back the exact money they sent to my gcash but they did not agree, they strongly insisted that I should pay for the 2900 amount due! I kept explaining that I’m not responsible to pay for that since I didn’t really use the money they sent to my gcash and just wanted to give it back but they still insisted for me to pay the whole amount. I asked for their account for repayment and just sent them the 1800 they sent to my gcash and they told me that it was just a partial payment and that they would call all my contacts from my phone if I don’t pay the remaining. After just few hours, my friends and colleagues sent me a message and told me that MocaMoca called them to tell about my loan! I didn’t give any permission for them to call my contacts on my phone and now they are using this to harass me and the people in my contacts!

I am very about my work now as they still send messages and calls telling them that I haven’t paid my loan and that I used them as a reference which I did not. I’m afraid what more they can do of the info they was able to obtain from my phone including my i.d pictures saved from my gallery. I hope your office can do something to help me with this. I’ve also realize there are more people who were victims of harassment of online lending apps. Please help us stop all these harassment and unfair debt collection. This is so unjust!

Na curious lng ako humiram ako ng 2k at bigla n lng ako nagulat na ang laki ng kinaltas nila naging 1300..at babayaran mo within 7 days..kapag d k n nkabayd nag haharass sila sending sa emails ko patuloy n tumatwag s phone ko..sobra ang lending companies n mga eto…sobra kng sobra kng cla ay maningil

    1. tinry ko manghiram sa mocamoca app ang credit loan ko is 2940 tas ang narecieve ko lang is 1900 sobrang daming hidden charges tas kailangan mabayaran agad within 15days tas tumatawag sila ng tumatawag sa reference tsaka phone ko

  2. Moca moca lending or any platform of Copperstone Lending is considered scam. The SEC already revoked the license. So if someone harasses you from this scammer, report to SEC or ask NTC to block the number they use to call you.
