due to an information mismatch in KYC according to their sentence, my phone number was deactivated temporarily, so according to the service center of Airtel, I have to convert to postpaid and maintain it for 5 months. When I called for more information about this at customer care at 121, they told that I have to maintain it for 90 days for verification, after 90days I can convert it to prepaid.
Reaching out to the service center, they deny the claims of customer care and I have to continue it for 5 months.
Even converting postpaid to prepaid is not instant, takes 2 to 3 days with included charges, and why the informations are widely different from customer care and service centers? Just for verification, why is it mandatory to convert to postpaid in which an ordinary person cant deliberately pay those huge charges over Rs. 700 a month for just VERIFICATION purposes. There must be some other ways to conjure the verification through a different process, I think this is a scam just for cash grabs.
