Please find attached the tickets that I booked via Make My trip for a trip to Africa last year. The ticket reference numbers as sent by Makemytrip as well and confirmed are attached for your reference, which they refused to refund but said few of them could be changed before 31st Dec 2020 while others could be changed later.
First, they had no clarity, and then after much to and fro, this is what they insisted on as a solution, even though it was tough to rebook my trip due to the pandemic. Anyway, I made my agent rebook the entire trip and when I tried to contact MakeMytrip via email, website, and their chatbot on 16th December 2020 as only 15 days were left for me to rebook my tickets, no solution or even effort to any help was entertained by them. Then on the pretext of making a new booking, after a hold of half an hour, I finally got through to an agent who was extremely useless and told me that these cannot be rebooked as they have expired. These tickets together cost a few lakhs and when confronted she insisted that the tickets have expired and when I told her that MakeMyTrip has confirmed me on this she said no it’s from the date of the issuance so the tickets have expired. Upon asking then why did your agents at the time told me this, she asked me for evidence. Thankfully I had the presence of mind to have called for it in writing, as I was afraid that this is exactly what might happen and forwarded her the same. She (Arpita Saha) said that I will have this validated with my team and get back to you within 48 hours, which I again took in writing but despite my repeated attempts to reach them or call them, It’s now been a week that they haven’t reverted back, replied to my emails or my queries raised on their website.
Am attaching the last mail from the agent Arpita Saha of 16th December 2020 as well. Clearly, MakeMyTrip is duping their customers as they are just not entertaining any calls or queries regarding the many promises they made.
Please help. Post the trailing mail, I received one more mail from them on August 30, 2020, confirming the initial solution that I can rebook by 31st December 2020 which is also attached for your reference.
