Amazon order number – 405-2527430-6747564
Order date – 26-07-2021
Amount paid – Rs.1499/-

Grievance details – I have ordered a sofa back cover as per the above referred order id to Amazon India and the delivery date was given as 03-08-2021. The full payment was made to Amazon India through Amazon pay UPI at the time of order placement. On 03-08-2021, Amazon India intimated that the item will be delayed and the expected delivery date was 08-08-2021. The item was not delivered by 08-08-2021. So, I cancelled the order and the refund was auto requested. This was acknowledged by Amazon India. Since the refund was not issued till 11-08-2021, I contacted Amazon India Customer service chat through their mobile app. During the chat, an Amazon Executive promised that the refund will be issued within 2-3 business days once the item is returned to the seller. Even after this, the refund was not issued. So, I called customer service and enquired about the refund. They again promised that the refund will be issued by 16-08-2021. So, I waited till the 16th. Since the refund was not issued, I again contacted customer service and talked with them. This time they said that the refund can be issued only 2-3 business days after the item has been returned to the seller. Each and every time when I contacted customer service, the executives are telling that the problem is with the seller. It is noted that we are paying directly to Amazon India and it is their responsibility to issue the refund even if the item is not returned to the seller. As a customer, we have no connection with the seller and we don’t know the details of the seller.

Solution – I request to direct Amazon India to refund the amount of Rs.1499/- paid for the item which has not been delivered along with a compensation of Rs.5000/- for the mental stress and Rs.5000/- for the unnecessary communication with Amazon India and wasting my valuable time.
