Text of Complaint by Arshia Verma:

I was in the United States from June 28, 2019 to July 05, 2019, and I got a recharge for the ₹995 pack for International Roaming Services on June 27, 2019.

I reached San Francisco on June 28, and there was no network whatsoever. For seven days I was in a foreign country with no means to contact anyone at all. My family in India contacted your customer service several times. The first time they said that the ‘tower was down in Andhra Pradesh Circle’ and they said network would come after four hours. My family contacted them 3-4 times after that, they said they sent me the settings to activate the network. I got no settings, nothing at all.
I called Vodafone customer care when I was back, and they said that I had to active international roaming service on my number when your website clearly says it is preactivated for prepaid numbers in all circles other than Orissa, Bihar, Kolkata, and regions of Bengal. Also, nowhere in your ‘recharge successful’ message is it mentioned that I have to get international roaming activated. It just says that the ‘benefits will be sent to you shortly’.
The customer service agent was utterly unhelpful but she did give me an email id to contact Vodafone with my complaint. Despite repeated emails, no help was provided and the only reply I ever got was your autogenerated “thank you for registering your complaint”.
I would really like to get my ₹995 back. This blatant misinformation that is all over the website caused me a lot of trouble throughout my trip. Not only this, their customer care service is horrible, with no steps taken to resolve the issue despite repeated reminders.
