I have bumper to bumper car insurance with ICICI. Recently there was damage done to my car bumper which was parked outside house by dog. Maruti service center gave a total estimate of 14k . ICICI insurance company didnot approve my claim saying it’s my negligence to park car outside. Most of us do not have covered parking. We park vehicle in front of house, how can that be my negligence.
Just after this incident, I have also changed my rented house and shifted to a house with covered parking. After explaining all these and following up on daily basis, they just approved 50% of the amount.
The explanation given by the insurance guy is you can go and have accident 100 times we will approve. I don’t understand the logic. This incident happened accidentally and if there is a full insurance coverage how can someone decline the claim .
I ended up paying 8000 for the repair. Only 5k+ was covered in insurance.
