Text of Complaint by V K Sharma:

Sir,

Adani Electricity has raised Bills for Account No. 101843982 for months of Mar, Apr and May 2020 for ₹6169.34, ₹5292.50 and ₹5503.97 respectively for a 1-BHK flat where two persons were living with no Air Conditioner in use. This flat has 1 light point each in kitchen, bathroom, toilet and pooja room and two light points each in living room and bedroom, besides 1 ceiling fan each in pooja room, bedroom and living room.

Despite the fact that we paid ₹1980, 1830 and 1880 on 01-05-20, 29-05-20 and 07-07-20 respectively towards Mar, Apr and May 20 bills respectively, they have raised the Aug-20 bill for ₹16840 which is inclusive of all earlier unpaid bills amount. Seeing these high bills, I was scared and could not afford these high bills. So, I vacated this flat and shifted to another 2-BHK flat where my monthly electricity bill is about ₹1000 which is reasonable.

My submission is that how can electricity consumption in a 1-BHK flat can run so high as to generate monthly bill of about ₹7000 per month. To me, it incomprehensible. But it is certain that there is something wrong with the meter.

In September, one person from Adani Electricity came to my flat and took the download of electricity meter. However, I have received no further communication from them.

Earlier, on 18-Sep-2020, 02:15 pm, I wrote an email to Adani Electricity (helpdesk.mumbaielectricity@adani.com) raising my concern. But they gave me stock reply by their email dated 18-Sep-2020 04:37 pm that due to lockdown people were at home and hence more electricity consumption. But this reply is stale and lacks reasonableness.

In my judgement, there is something wrong with the meter. So, it necessary that they revise bills for Mar, Apr and May 2020 months and also change the meter immediately.

Looking for early resolution of the matter.

Sincerely yours

V K Sharma
