Text of Complaint by NISHANT VERMA:

Dear Sir

HDFC life is using Airtel’s service that charges customers for calling their number 18602679999. My HDFC Life Term Plan policy was made to lapse despite paying the premium on time.

HDFC did not sight any reason for that. I received a text from HDFC life to pay double the amount for reviving the lapsed policy.

However, I have been paying my premium on time since it is linked to my savings bank account and the amount gets debited directly within the due date. So there is no reason of missing any premium date. Also they sold me a top-up on this term plan without informing about the hidden rider that the top up would be increased by 10% every year.

Now when I asked them to stop the top up and return the money for the top up that I have been charged so far for this fraudulently sold top-up, on 27th July, 2020, HDFC life said they will get back to me in 7-10 days.

However, they had only sent me an email informing me that my policy has lapsed. Self-cotradicting their email, they also had sent me an acknowledgment receipt of the payment made through direct debit on 06th August, 2020.

To seek clarification, I tried calling HDFC Life 18602679999, which is a chargeable number and the call automatically drops after playing music and IVR non sense of 2 minutes. I have a recording to substantiate it.
