Text of Complaint by Karisma Dash:

I am a borrower of LendingPlate and availed a loan of 31600 rupees. I previously made two repayments on time. Due to a temporary financial and salary crisis I could not make the scheduled payments for the last five months. However I have already paid 7000 rupees and have repeatedly informed the lender that I am willing to repay the legitimate outstanding amount. I am currently requesting to pay 4000 rupees and clear the remaining amount within four months.

My complaint concerns the harassment and conduct of persons claiming to be recovery agents of LendingPlate using mobile numbers 9625745231 and 9178459339.

They have repeatedly contacted me using abusive insulting and intimidating language. More seriously they have searched for and contacted my colleagues using information available online and discussed my loan recovery matter with them. This has caused severe mental distress and affected my professional reputation. They have not provided any proper reference or authorisation number while making such calls.

I have never hidden my identity or refused to repay the loan. I have clearly communicated my financial difficulty and proposed a genuine repayment plan. I have also informed them that if the lender believes I have committed fraud it may take lawful legal action against me but recovery should not be conducted through harassment intimidation abuse or inappropriate disclosure of my financial information to colleagues or third parties.

I have preserved call recordings screenshots call logs and evidence of communications with my colleagues and can provide them to the appropriate authority.

I request RBI to examine whether these persons are authorised recovery agents whether my personal loan information was improperly disclosed to third parties and whether their conduct violates RBI guidelines on recovery practices borrower privacy and harassment.

I request appropriate action and directions to the regulated entity to stop such harassment ensure lawful recovery provide authorised recovery agent details and consider my genuine request for a four month repayment arrangement.

I am willing to repay the legitimate outstanding amount and am not attempting to evade my liability
