Text of Complaint by Rupinder Oberoi Dhingra:

I am an Airtel customer. I had a Vodaphone connection. I paid my bills. In April, the company sent me a huge bill, which I disputed. I was called more than 40 times a day, to pay the bill. Thereafter, the recovery team harassed me, talked abusively, and then sent me WhatsApp messages to pay a certain amount by this date. I said sometimes it is 700 Rs. or sometimes, Rs. 800. this is not a bargaining deal.

I lodged a complaint with the ombudsman and the nodal officer. He settled the amount for Rs. 525 and cleared my dues, and the bill settled.

I ported my number to Airtel. I paid my airtel bill was happy with services. I am an advocate working in Delhi High Court and all of a sudden, my phone was disconnected. I was unable to take client calls. I contacted Airtel who told me that my dues were remaining. i said that i have paid the bills.
They said it was Vodaphone dues. I said the amount had been settled. Did you seek my permission? Who told you about past dues?

I again raised the query to ombudsman, whose reply was we have revoked the settlement as you have ported the number to Airtel.

This shows professional misconduct, collusion and no regard to law. where on earth the settlement is revoked. Which legal provisions permit them to do so?

These people are running a racket to extract money.
