Text of Complaint by Prabir Kumar Panda:

R/Sir,
It is to draw your kind attention that I Sh. Prabir Kumar Panda – Group Senior Manager, working for NHPC Limited ( A Govt. of India Undertaking), Under Ministry of Power, Rafi Marg, Shram Shakti Bhavan, New Delhi- 110001. At present I am residing in NHPC Colony, Surajkund Road, Sector -41,Faridabad.
On dated 28-03-2022, I along with my wife have purchased a sofa( 6 seater) with centre table from Evok Faridabad Store, Crown Interiorz Mall, Delhi Mathura Road, Sector-35, Faridabad, with total amount of Rs. 1,22,767/-. Rs. 41,436 was paid through ICICI debit card & rest was financed by M/s Bajaj Finance Limited under EMI scheme. Bill was attached for your reference. Concerned store has assured me to deliver the sofa set ( 6 seater) along with the centre table on 28-03-2022. But the items were delivered on 04-04-2022.

In the meantime on dated 30-04-2022, I noticed a crack in the lower right side of the three seater sofa set. Immediately, I lodged a complaint in the shop with complaint no: MJ73319 by sending a video clip as well as bill to Mr. Sobi – Salesman of the shop, Evoke Faridabad Store. Moreover, he told me to contact Mr. Naresh Kumar, Sr. Executive -Service Evoke Faridabad, E.NO: ER01418.

On dated 11-05-2022, I got a call from Deepak (Service Person of Evok) & he asked me for the status of ongoing complaint & finally requested me to send again the video of the cracked portion of sofa from a different angle. Accordingly, I sent the video immediately on dated 11-05-2022.
In the meantime , I have contacted Deepak, Sobi & Mrinal ( Sales Person of Evok) several times for the said issue but all were giving assurance that the defective sofa shall be replaced very soon. Finally, I talked with Mr. Naresh Kumar, Sr. Executive -Service Evok on dated 14-05-2025 to resolve the issue at the earliest. Again I sent all the video clips to Naresh. Mr. Naresh has assured me to resolve the issue within 05 days. I have tried to contact Mr. Naresh on dated 18-05-2022 to know the status of the ongoing issue. Neither he picked up my phone nor replied to my whats app message.
On the same day i.e 18-05-2022, I contacted Mr. Naveen – Senior level sales person in Evok & requested him to resolve this issue. I again sent all the video clip to Mr. Naveen. Finally, he told me to contact Mr. Rakesh, Service head, Evok. I tried to contact Naresh so many times but he did not pick up my phone. In the meantime, I lodged a complaint in the Evok customer service no: 1800-1207-577.
On 20-05-2022 , I talked with Rakesh and told him all the past sequences made by Evok people i.e Sobi, Mrinal, Deepak, Naresh, Naveen & Customer care people. He immediately sent a carpenter to my residence & without my concern/wife, the carpenter pounded nails into the new sofa as per the instruction of Evoke people & told me that the soft got repaired. Immediately, I contacted Mr. Rakesh , Service head of Evok ( Mobile No: 9717005827) & told him the activity was made by a carpenter. Please note that Mr. Rakesh has assured me on the same day i.e dated 20-05-2022 to replace the damaged three seater sofa within 08 days. In the mean, Naresh has also assured me to replace the damaged sofa & same will update on p Monday ( 23-05-2022). Till Tuesday ( 22-05-2022)neither I got a call from Rakesh nor Naresh for the status of a long pending issue.
Finally, Today evening ( 25-05-2022) I called Rakesh over mobile to know the status of the above issue. At first Mr. Rakesh was confused & told me that replacement for damage to the 03 seater sofa did not approve & it was too late for complaint. Immediately, he sent Naresh to check the damaged part of Sofa in my residence & made a video again & now they are trying to justify that the damage in the wooden part was done by us after a long day.
Sir, please look into the following point: –
1. The cost of the sofa along with the center table is Rs. 1,22,767/-. It is clearly indicated that there is good quality wood and other materials are used in the sofa. Hence, I Purchased the sofa. Mr Neeven has assured the same during purchase.
2. The material was delivered on 04-04-2022 & I lodged the complaint on 30-04-2022.
3. I was surprised, less than one month ago, Evok hesitated to replace the damaged sofa. On the other hand after numerous follow up i.e after 20 days , a carpenter came to my residence & without my concern/wife ,pounded nails in the new sofa to suppress the crack. Indirectly, they cheated us & low graded materials are used in Sofa & selling at higher price.
4. Last 25 days , I & my wife have mentally tortured & harassed by Evok Furniture people – Sobi, Mrinal, Deepak & Naresh, Naveen , Customer care people & Finally Rakesh- Service Head
5. After giving repeated assurance to replace the damaged sofa by higher authority of Evok People- Mr. Rakesh, finally they are blaming us that the damage was made by us.
6. Please note that the sofa is under 01 Year Warranty.
7. I will produce all the evidence i.e video clip, message conversation along with recording voice call at the time of need.
Sir, in the compelling circumstances, I may request you to take necessary step to resolve the issue immediately.
