Incident Description:
While searching for household furniture and appliances online for my new flat in Ahmedabad, I came across an advertisement on Quikr offering second-hand household items. I contacted the seller, Mr. Raju Das, who claimed to be a CRPF officer recently transferred and urgently needing to sell his items before relocation.
We communicated over WhatsApp, where he shared multiple photos, item lists, and prices. The deal included the following:
Bed – ₹7,000
Sofa – ₹8,000
Samsung Refrigerator – ₹8,000
Samsung Washing Machine – ₹6,000
Samsung TV – ₹7,000
Samsung AC – ₹12,000
Dining Table – ₹5,000
Samsung Laptop- 1000/-
Inverter and battery -5000/-
Total = ₹65,000
Discovery of Fraud:
Later, while checking Quikr again, I found the same ad with slightly different photos listed in multiple cities. I asked Mr. Das for his ID proof, which he provided, insisting that there was no fraud involved.
Upon further investigation, I discovered the same advertisement duplicated across 95 cities with different contact numbers (e.g., 7878496024) and another email ID (dasraju93719@gmail.com), indicating a large-scale scam.
The fraudster now has shared a forged Army receipt. They are asking me to transfer an additional ₹17,500 to the following UPI ID for “delivery purposes”: today morning

Additionally, they have introduced a so-called delivery boy and shared a contact number with me:
