Dear Greeting!…,
I received a communication through India Post y (13-06-2022) stating that, I have won scratch and win through Amazon Pvt Ltd on occasion of 9th Anniversary celebration.
I scratched the card and it was written Rs.7,50,000/-won with some 6 digit code. On calling the customer care no given on the sheet, one Mr. Kamal Singh asked me to share the correspondence, and told that he was from prize division centre of amazon. I did so. Then He whatsapp me asking to share bank details,so as to transfer the won amount 7.5 lacs. Assuming that it was true, I asked him to share his employee ID card and office addr. Thereafter, I shared my account details. After receiving the same, he asked to transfer 1% service tax from the won amount..i.e. 7,500/- Doubting this fact, asked him to share the bank details to send the tax amt. He gave some Ram Sigh Pendro ’s bank details. They later demanded 22500 rs again. When contacted by Amazon customer care he said it was a fake. Please take action against them. I had a very bad doubt and suspicious thought, y shud the tax amt go to an individual’s account rather going to a pooling account or even they can transfer the prize amt after deducting the tax. Immediately, I called my cousin who worked with AMAZON and shared the details in this regard. He literally saved me from this scam and fraudulent act.
Request to please take necessary action to stop such fraudulent and cheating practice.
