Text of Complaint by Abhishek Gupta:

I am writing to formally lodge a complaint against Flipkart and the seller concerning an issue with my recent order and the inconsistent reasons provided for its cancellation.On the morning of 30th September, I placed an order for Adidas shoes priced at ₹1692 as part of an offer during the Big Billion Day sale. Later that evening, I noticed the same pair of shoes being offered at a significantly lower price of ₹469, with an additional 75% off (total 89% off). Since I had been tracking the price of this item for two days, I quickly placed an order at the new price and received a confirmation from Flipkart. I subsequently cancelled my earlier order for ₹1692 as I now had the shoes at a better price under the offer.However, on 1st October, my second order was also cancelled by Flipkart, with the reason displayed as:
“Since the item went out of stock, your order is cancelled.”This explanation was not only misleading but incorrect. The product was still available in stock when I checked after the cancellation. When I contacted Flipkart’s customer service, I was informed that the order was cancelled by the seller due to a pricing error, and the company could not assist me further.I find this response unacceptable for several reasons:Inconsistent Information:
Flipkart’s platform shows one reason (out of stock), while customer service provided a completely different reason (pricing error). This inconsistency has caused confusion and frustration.Failure to Honor the Offer:
The Big Billion Day sale regularly advertises substantial discounts, and I placed my order in good faith based on the listed price. If there was a genuine error, Flipkart should not have allowed the listing at such a price during the offer period.Inconvenience and Mental Distress:
I invested significant time checking the price multiple times and ensuring I made the purchase at the right moment. The cancellation and contradictory communication from Flipkart have resulted in unnecessary stress and wasted time. I now also have a headache due to this frustration.Financial Burden:
The current price of the shoes is ₹2399, which I cannot afford at this time. My initial orders were for ₹1692 and ₹469, both of which were within my budget. Due to this error on Flipkart’s part, I have lost both orders and the opportunity to purchase at a reasonable price.Additionally, Flipkart customer service asked me to contact the seller directly, which is impractical since customers cannot communicate directly with sellers on the platform. As Flipkart acts as the mediator, I hold them responsible for resolving this issue.Request for Resolution:
I request that Flipkart either honors the original offer at the price of ₹469 or provides compensation for the inconvenience caused, along with a formal apology for the misleading communication and mishandling of my order.To support my complaint, I am ready to provide screenshots of the order confirmation, the price at which I placed the order, and the cancellation notices.I trust that the Consumer Forum will take appropriate action to ensure a fair resolution to this matter.
