I am writing thisto formally register a serious complaint against Reliance Smart Bazaar, Phulwari Sharif, for highly unprofessional conduct, customer abuse, overcharging, and violation of basic retail norms.
During my visit to the store, I faced the following unacceptable issues:
Misbehavior and verbal abuse by an employee named Jaya, which was completely uncalled for and disrespectful.
No staff present at the billing counter, causing unnecessary inconvenience and harassment to customers.
The complaint book was initially denied by the store announcing/help desk, which itself is a violation of customer rights.
Incorrect and misleading pricing was displayed for Tata Tea Premium.
Price displayed on the shelf/board: ₹349
Price charged at billing counter: ₹440
This is a clear case of overcharging and unfair trade practice.
Multiple employees were present, yet none took responsibility or handled the situation professionally.
Mr. Salman, Floor Manager, contacted me later but only offered a verbal “sorry” and irresponsibly asked me to “look into the matter myself,” which is completely unacceptable for a brand of Reliance’s stature.
Such behavior reflects extremely poor store management, lack of employee training, and disregard for consumer protection laws. These actions amount to mental harassment, cheating, and misleading pricing, which are punishable under the Consumer Protection Act.
If this issue is not formally acknowledged and resolved in writing, I will be compelled to:
Escalate the matter to Reliance Retail Head Office
File a formal complaint with the Consumer Forum
Raise this issue on public consumer grievance platforms and social media
