I purchased a mobile phone from flipkart under exchange scheme. Under their “Exchange Later” scheme, they were to collect full mobile cost before the delivery and refund the exchange amount once they collect the old mobile so giving opportunity to transfer data of old mobile to new one.
AFter few days of delivery of mobile, i received a text saying that mobile will be picked that day. However, when the person didn’t show up, i called and he said that he will pick up the mobile next day. Because of my unavailability, i called the customer care and request them to facilitate picking up mobile after 2 days, which was well within their picking up window. I was told that executive will contact me in 48 hours and address it. I got a call and was told that he will be facilitating the picking up. AFter few minutes, i received a mail that they cannot complete the “exchange later” thing and if i wish i may sell back the mobile. I just checked the sell back conditions, which are much more complicated and amount offerred was much much lesser.
and interestingly, I received the mail on the next day of return closing window, otherwise i also would have returned the new product, as i was not planning to spend that much amount on the new device.
I have tried to reach flipkart customer care, but get no proper response. I tweet in public domain also, but there are just seemingly automated replies. attaching the screenshot of their mail, denying the exchange offer only because of their own unknown/undisclosed issues.
This not only cost me about 10,000 (offered return) but also causing me the mental agony, wasting my time, and energy as well.
