Text of Complaint by Sourav Rana:

I have booked 6 flight ticket from AirIndia through FlipKart. Now one of the name had a spelling mistake and I requested FlipKart 3-4 times to change it but they did not help me and each time they asked me to contact the airline. So, I called airline and they informed me to contact FlipKart since I have booked the ticket from FlipKart. After so many calls FlipKart Customer Care advised me to cancel one ticket through Airlines directly and claim for full refund. So I called the airlines and cancelled the ticket within 24 hours of booking (Implies that I am eligible for full refund). Since the ticket was booked through FlipKart I didn’t receive the full refund directly to my account.

I mailed the FlipKart customer care for refund and they asked me to provide the endorsement copy with AirIndia stamp for refund. [Note that, FlipKart booked my ticket and they obviously have all the related mails.]

I have mailed AirIndia after stating all the above and luckily they sent me an e-mail stating that one booking is cancelled with NIL cancellation charges. They also mentioned that 1G Pax is eligible for full refund as booking XXNL within 24 HRS. I forwarded the mail to FlipKart and asked for the refund but they denied and again asked me to provide the endorsement copy with AirIndia stamp for refund.

I had raised the above issue to FlipKart (https://www.facebook.com/flipkart) and their customer care support team contacted me by phone and discussed about the matter.

The Flipkart support team who was asking continuously for cancellation endorsement copy, I mailed them and asked to provide me the confirm e-ticket numbers of six persons. At that time point they confirmed me that one ticket was canceled. Further they informed me the ticket was cancelled from airlines end and asked me to cancel the ticket via FlipKart for refund. In the cancellation process it shows zero refund so I did not cancel it via FlipKart and mailed them to confirm the full refund before I cancel it via FlipKart. Their customer care support team called me and asked me the issue and After that I received a mail that the ticket was cancelled and I got the refund Rs: 1700 (approx).

I was suppose to get the refund amount Rs: 3300 (approx), instead I got Rs: 1700 (approx). I asked them and they explained me that total instant off for six person (approx Rs: 1550) was cutoff from the refund amount whereas I have forced to cancel only one ticket and five ticket is confirmed. When I asked, they sent me a mail and informed that discount is only eligible on confirmed booking, as I have canceled my booking so instant discount was adjusted. However, I have already five confirmed booking and according to their mail, they may reduce (Rs: 260 (approx)) for the cancelation.

I did not find their instant off terms and conditions in the internet and they are explaining it in their favor so that they may reduce the refund amount. Whatever they are doing is wrong and the instant off should be based on each person (at least their mail reflects that).

    My flight No.UK765 from Delhi to Bagdogra and departure time was 13.50 but when I enter for departure they are not allowed to enter the flight though I arrived 15 minutes before. So my flight was missed. Hence, you are therefore, requested to kindly allow me my refund amount in my bank account.
