Subject: Complaint against Unethical Business Practices and Misrepresentation by Property Owner

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing this complaint letter to bring to your attention the unethical business practices and misrepresentation by a property owner that have caused me significant financial loss and mental distress. I request your intervention and support in resolving this matter and seeking appropriate compensation for the damages incurred.

The details of the incident are as follows:

1. Misleading Advertisement: The property owner had advertised a flat for rent, claiming that it was posted by the owner. However, upon contacting the owner and expressing my interest, I faced difficulties in arranging a meeting. The owner refused to meet me in person, which raised suspicion about the legitimacy of the offer.

2. Fraudulent Request for Money: When I insisted on meeting the owner to discuss the property deal, he insisted on paying Rs. 2000 to print visiting cards, claiming it was necessary for formal communication. As I had a genuine interest in the property, I agreed to pay the amount. However, after the payment, he asked for additional money, citing random reasons, to generate the visiting card.

3. Refusal to Refund: I became suspicious of the owner’s intentions when he continuously asked for more money. I refused to pay the additional amount and demanded a refund of the Rs. 2000 I had already paid. Instead of responding properly to my concerns, the owner behaved unprofessionally and avoided addressing the issue.

4. Failure to Provide Refund: Despite multiple requests for a refund, the property owner did not comply with my demand. He ignored my requests and did not provide any assurance or timeline for the refund of my hard-earned money.

5. Misrepresentation of Property: To verify the authenticity of the property, I visited the apartment and cross-checked with the security personnel. I was shocked to find that the flat advertised did not match the actual configuration of the building. The owner had misrepresented the property, leading to false expectations and wastage of time and effort.

Considering the gravity of the situation and the financial loss incurred due to the property owner’s dishonest practices, I kindly request the Consumer Court’s intervention. I seek proper investigation and appropriate action against the property owner for his fraudulent actions.

I also request the Consumer Court to order the property owner to refund the Rs. 2000 I paid for the visiting card, along with appropriate compensation for the mental agony, time wasted, and the financial loss suffered during this whole ordeal.

I have attached copies of all relevant documents, including communication records, payment receipts, and the advertisement, to support my complaint.

I hope that the Consumer Court will take prompt action in this matter and ensure justice is served. Your intervention will not only safeguard my interests but also send a strong message against such unscrupulous practices in the real estate sector.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.
