Dear Amitji,
This is in reference to series of trail mails sent earlier to Amazon customer care regarding selling of counterfeit Sandisk drive on Amazon platform which has damaged my PC. Please go through the following points for a quick recap.
1) Amazon supplied a fake pen drive through supplier Hexagon which damaged my PC.
2) It asked the proof of counterfeit by Sandisk which was sent to Amazon through email.
3) The matter has been languishing at your various departments and they have failed to reach a solution. They neither call nor email about anything. And the customer care executive repeatedly says that he cannot solve this problem except for returning this product. There is no policy regarding this new type of problem. It seems that the personnels running those departments are incapable of handling these affairs. May be some fresh firing and hiring needed which will be better decided by your HR department.
4) When asked about to get me in touch with senior persons/managers, providing their contact details etc., they give reply that they cannot get me with any of them as if Amazon is run like some secret intelligence service like RAW of India.
5) I find it myself embarrassing to remind you that every department has a chain of command structure and every department has its customer grievance redressal mechanism to approach higher official if lower one fails to redress the issue. I won’t need to remind you that ultimately the success of a consumer oriented business depends on its consumer. Even RAW which operates in secrecy is at last responsible to the PM of the nation.
6) May be that this is the first type of case which has come to Amazon but then policies are made when problems arise. This is the beauty of human species which separates us from other animals that we are problem-solving species. That’s why I indicated that some people even some senior ones need to be fired from your business because you pay them exactly for doing this most basic functionality of human beings that is problem-solving, not only in my case, but in all of the daily affairs which is running Amazon. And they have failed to do this most basic work while taking fat salaries for the same.
7) What I could visualize that the simplest recourse lies to this problem is to get my old PC repaired by computer engineer hired by Amazon itself (which I offered to Amazon just the day my PC crashed while using the counterfeit pen drive) and pay for the data recovery charges and recover it through fake pen drive supplier. Else if Amazon cannot send computer engineer then supply a new PC with similar configuration, photographs of which have been already asked by your department and have been provided by me.
8) It may also be noted that Hexagon, the supplier is liable to prosecution for forgery. Even Amazon can sue them and claim damages for bringing disrepute to the platform. But if the firm has run away then, Amazon has to take the responsibility and compensate for the damages. I feel embarrassed again to remind Amazon that isn’t like this, the operations are run for any firm?
I would really appreciate your kind gesture if you personally interfere in this case and guide your department accordingly to solve the issue.
I’m sure as you are country head and running the operations at such a gigantic scale, I will be spared from getting into consumer court affairs for such a small issue of compensation.
