Text of Complaint by amitesh datta:

I had bought Mi Tv from Flipkart in June 2018, the installation was to be done by a 3rd party which was the “service partner” of flipkart. On the designated day , the executive from the 3rd party “Jeeves consumer services pvt ltd” visited my place, installed the TV, sent a payment link (yes installation charges of 500 were to be paid) to which I made the payment. This guy suggested that I buy the 2 years extended warranty as well which would provide me comprehensive cover for any manufacturing defects. I told him to fwd me the payment link and I will think about. The next day I decided to take the warranty and paid the amount “Rs1430” . I did get the payment receipt but didn’t get any other invoice or anything. I called up the executive who had come for the installation and he said that the invoice would be sent to me within 48hours. Post that I didn’t check for the invoice and forgot all about it.

A few days back I noticed some black spots on my TV screen. I remembered the fact that I had bought this extended warranty which still has a few months left. I looked up the details , I had the TV installation payment receipt and the invoice for the same, however I never received the invoice for the extended warranty, thinking that since I have a receipt of payment there should not be any issue, I first called up Mi Tv, they told me to contact Flipkart. I called flipkart they asked me to get in touch with Jeeves. I called up Jeeves and to my shock and horror they said that my details don’t exist with them, I told them about the receipt which I have and the fact that the receipt number should be sufficient to look up my details. they asked me to share the documents with them on mail, did that. The reply which I got was even more stupid, the asked me to get in touch with the tele customer care.

I don’t understand how this racket is still going on, out of the millions of people who buy into Jeeves’ fraudulent services, many end up getting cheated.

I am attaching the details here.
