I booked movie tickets through the BookMyShow mobile application. At the time of booking, the application clearly displayed that cancellation was available for the selected show, with a cutoff time of 4 hours before the show start. Relying on this representation, I proceeded to book the tickets.
When I later attempted to cancel the tickets within the permitted time frame, the application displayed a message stating that cancellation was not available for this show. To support my claim, I had already taken a screenshot at the time of booking which clearly shows that the cancellation option was available with the stated cutoff period.
Despite sharing this screenshot with BookMyShow customer support, the representative denied my request, claiming that cancellation was not available at the time of booking. This contradicts the evidence in my possession.
This amounts to misleading information and deficiency in service, as the cancellation policy displayed during booking was not honored. I was induced to book the tickets based on the false assurance of a cancellation option, and later denied my right to cancel, resulting in financial loss and harassment.
Therefore, I am filing this complaint seeking justice, as the company has engaged in unfair trade practices by misleading consumers and refusing to honor the terms shown at the time of booking.
