Text of Complaint by Akshay Shah:

This is Akshay Shah, a zomato gold member for the last 3 months. I saw The Carnival Ad on your Zomato App after which I reserved a table for 4 persons at Dobaraa restaurant at Lower Parel Mumbai on 23 March 2023 at 1:30 pm for which I paid Rs 100 for four people towards the reservation table. Sharing below screen shot of booking. On the 23rd Sunday at 12:30 Pm when I was on my way to the restaurant, I got a call from Dobaraa Restaurant stating that the restaurant was full, tables were sold out and they had cancelled our reservation. If we want to still dine at the restaurant we will have to wait and they will provide the table when it is available. After reaching the restaurant we were given the table after 20 Min. We ordered some food but when i was about to pay the Bill i got the shock of my life stating by the restaurant manager that they won’t accept payment through the Zomato Carnival offer as they have not received any intimation from zomato. I had to chat with your executive through your zomato app. First of all, please do something about your chat complaint. because when we want immediate answers to the problem, we would not be receiving because of zomato the chatting person on the app keeps the customer on waiting for so much time. I had to face a similar issue after I began chatting on your app through your app. My query did not get resolved even after 30-35 min of chatting with the person on your app during which time I was told by the manager to pay the bill and vacant the table 2-3 times as customers were waiting for tables. Zomato put us in such an awkward situation regarding the carnival that my family were so embarrassed. Finally, after waiting for eternity I was told by the person i was chatting to pay the bill Offline as the issue could not be resolved stating zomato would get back to me in 72 hours. After which i paid the bill and left the restaurant also attaching a paid bill copy. So, If you are not able to provide the services which you promote, so much give big big ads on paper what is the use of me being a gold member with zomato and why should I be your gold member spending such an amount and also face such embarrassment. Kindly compensate. I Expect to get the Full Refund amount i paid of Rs 1790 at the Restaurant along with the booking Fees of Rs 100 for the table which i was never provided. I do not want Refund in Zomato ecash in my Zomato wallet. I would like the refund directly in my bank account or UPI Account. If you fail to do so I would definitely raise a complaint in consumer court regarding mental harassment and also for misguiding people by giving false advertisement and fake information to attract the large crowd.
