I am a consumer of WBSEDCL. My consumer no is 100108776. I have a flat in Brahmapur Bansdroni area which is lying vacant for the past three years as I am based out of Durgapur area . I have been paying my electricity bills through ECS . During the month of April 2021 the meter reader who had come to take my meter reading informed me through the residents that my meter is defective and hence needs to be replaced. I immediately raised a complaint online and the docket was closed after 5 days with remarks as complete. In August 2021 the same meter reader raised an estimated bill for sept 2021 to November 2021 of value rs 4240/- …now my normal quarterly bill is always rs 80 which is the basic meter rental as by flat lies vacant . The bill raised says estimated bill as meter seems defective .I immediately lodged a complaint with station manager at Bansdroni and told him about my problem clearly stating that my bill was abnormally high and needs to be reversed and fresh bill raised …further I had stopped my ECS .however the station manager and his deputy clearly told me nothing could be done as bill was already raised and and the estimated bill was as per WBSEDCL rules .I failed to understand why I would be punished for a faulty meter and why I would be paying for electricity not consumed by me. I am at a loss as to what needs to be done by me now .I will not be paying for this fictitious bill and I should not be penalized for non payment . Moreover what is the actual process for raising estimated bills .? Is this the way an honest consumer should be harassed for no fault . How can such an absurd bill be an estimated bill..as per the station manager the bill was ok which is not only ridiculous but absurd. Since I do not stay in kolkata it is very difficult for me to come down to kolkata and continuosly visit the substation for follow up of my complaint .the phone numbers provided normally go unanswered or the person is not able to give you a clear status update I have already raised multiple online dockets regarding my problem , however all the dockets are closed by the substation the same day without informing me I would request all concerned to kindly help me out for speedy disposal of this issue.
