Airtel to Vodafone Migration

3 September 2020, I migrate from Airtel to Vodafone. In October I keep getting messages that there is a pending sum that I have to clear on Airtel to the tune of Rs.197.
However, they do not tell me how to clear the amount. After enquiring several times they tell me that I have to visit a local customer centre. Considering that I was in Calcutta then and the pandemic was that full circle, I chose against visiting the store. Keeping that in mind I waited for some communication from their end. On first November midnight, my services were discontinued by Vodafone claiming non-payment of donor fees. Considering that situation I cleared my bill ASAP after reading a post on Quora on how to clear inactive Airtel number fees. The next morning after tweeting several times I called Vodafone with the email that I received from Airtel that they had received the money of Rs.197. Vodafone informed me that it was not reflecting on their portal. Perplexed on a Monday morning, as clients were not able to call me, I sent a legal notice to their customer care number. Their representative got in touch with me and said that they are trying to figure out what the problem was. On persistence for eight hours and legal notice, my number was reactivated on 2 November 2020. On 6 November 2020, I received an email from Vodafone apologising for this whole event and the fact that the amount has been paid is reflecting on their systems. They also said that this will not happen again. I have been a customer who has paid his postpaid bill at all points of time without fail. Being a law firm partner I have to make international calls very frequently so my bills would often be upwards of a thousand rupees. On 31 December 2020 at midnight, my number was showing out of provision, not registered on the network. Initially, I thought it was a technical glitch, as normally the networks get jammed at that time of the night. However, my services have still not been resumed.
On 2 January 2021, I visited the Vodafone customer care in Coles Road Fraser town, they informed me that this payment of one Rs.197 is still showing pending at Airtel’s and it is their fault. Being a customer I have received emails from both operators Vodafone and Airtel in November stating that they have received the amount. Hence I continue to enquire why this blocking was for. The person promised to look into the matter and made a few calls. I then tweeted and sent a legal notice, via Twitter as well as email to the service providers. To this they call me back on 2 January 2021 at 8 PM, saying that my number has been decommissioned and they will have to check whether the number is still with the Vodafone network or it has gone back to Airtel. It has been close to 60 hours that I have not been able to make any banking transactions, send money to my parents, or call clients, and many other things. Today is a Sunday and not much can be done about it other than being helpless!!
