This is to inform you that Urban Company service has damaged my General Window AC Compressor.
I had booked for AC service on 28th of March for AC not cooling much. When technician visited to service, he mentioned there is a gas leakage and needs welding and gas refilling to be done. He said, that’s the only reason why AC is not cooling. With no option left I agreed to the service that comes with warranty of 6 months.
He did the welding where there was a leakage and post that he refilled gas . Same day, after the work AC started working but was not cooling as it use to earlier but technical said its due to extreme hot weather and because of which I do not realize it. I trusted his words.
From next day onwards, AC stopped working completely. AC turns on and with in couple of minutes MCB trips. So, I approached the company for re visit. Same technician visits, he checks everything and said there could be only 2 reasons. 1. Your MCB needs replacement and/or 2. AC Compressor is damaged.
So, to rule out MCB issue, I booked Urban clap electrician and he check by replacing new MCB and did review entire wiring and said there is nothing wrong with it and something wrong with the AC.
I approached the company informing that AC is damaged within a day of Welding, servicing, gas refill. They arranged for SME tech on 05/04/2024 to review the issue. SME visited and said compressor is damaged and I need to pay Rs 9200 to fix the issue. I asked him “why should i pay for “bad service caused damaged compressor”. He kept low and left asking me to contact the company.
After trying to reach the company on several; occasions, on 12/04/2024 Urban company offered me a refund on Gas refiling but refused to fix the AC or take the responsibility of damaging the compressor and the AC.
I spoke to another AC technician for second opinion and he informed physical condition of the Compressor is in good condition. Good and common possibility is compressor must have been damaged by either filling unmatched gas and/or vacuuming is not done properly. Air could have not cleared completely resulting in slow and high voltage to damage the compressor.

Company says its not the original issue and we cannot cover for the damage. There was no MCB trip issues before the service. I paid Rs. 4200 for Leakage, gas refilling, servicing and it did not work for at least one day and they want me to pay Rs 9200 for their bad service.
Urban company is refusing to accept their responsibility to cater to 6 months of warranty. Its been more than 2 weeks and we are living without AC in the extreme hot weather, Company should fix my AC.
