Hi, I have purchased IFB top load washing machine from IFB through amazon site on March 2023 , exactly after 6 months got a call saying am from IFB and you have your first free service due – in this case i do trust that IFB is making call as they have my information like name , phone number and product purchased and date information ? so schedule a appointment for next day-
On next day(sep 09 2023) there were 2 people wearing IFB logo uniform stating coming from IFB and i shown them washing area and they did their service and asked me to 5800 /- stating filter is replaced and machine is scaled so use this descaling powder and all – Questions running on my mind was
– This is a brand new machine hardly used for 6 months and do i need to pay 5800 for service which was supposed to be free ?
– asked them what they did and they said we used 4 packets of descale powder 200 each ?
filter changed which is 1850 / –
they were handing me 16 more packets of powder for descaling which is 3200 which is 5850/- per service, i said machine cost is 15000 and in this case my service cost would be morethan 50000 in its life time considering am using it for 10 years
so decided to not to purchase 16packets more and i said to share the payment link for 2850 instead i got a UPI scanner of their service person – situation was intimidating so i don’t want any trouble at the moment as I had kid and my wife aloan with me and paid them.
Quickly called up IFB for this behavior and they didn’t have any idea about the service request and they confirmed its a fake.
Question Now :
1. How can IFB or Amazon share my personal information like Name , phone number , purchase details to some unauthorized people ?
2. Who will be responsible if any mishappen occurs with the above information , some burgler barge into house stating am from IFB and you have a service due ?
