We took part in fun fair held at Golibaar Maidan Pune, where at the entrance they had a lucky draw box where a person filled our name and contact number and kept it in the box. Next day, we got a call from a person that we have won a lucky draw and it consists of around five items like silver coin, kitchen set, travel voucher, health checkup and salon vouchers. And we have to come to Phoenix marketcity to get the same. When we reached the place, they asked us to come and have conversation with Country Vacation people. They had a setup of round table and chairs where plenty of families were present whom each Country Vacations person was explaining all the perks / false promises of Country Vacations. We went there and we were assigned initially to person named Jasmeen who started with knowing us by asking personal questions, then she explained things for more than an hour about Country Vacations and kept giving promises which we could not trust. We told initially that we are not interested so she called her manager and he then kept giving us the lecture on Country Vacations showing us initial budget of 80k for membership and 6000 yearly AMC amount. When we resisted to the offering, he kept negotiating and came down to 36k for membership fee and kept brainwashing us to agree on the offer. We still tried to resist alot and he kept convincing. Post a certain point, unknowingly / knowingly we agreed to the offer and he then configured and EMI for us if 12 months to pay 36k and kept showing calculations based on the same. He never brought the 6k yearly AMC amount into picture at all which when we consider came out to be additional 30k for 5 years. When we left the place, they provided us with the so called lucky draw gifts which are not at all useful. I would request consumer forum to help us get cancel our membership and refund the amount. The tactics being used here are not ethical. Brainwashing, indirectly forcing customers is not a good business ethics.
