Today I went to a Airtel Customer Care Centre at Beltola, Guwahati, Assam to request to convert my mother’s old Airtel sim to a new one. When I reached there, a lady from the Airtel told me that my mother has to be present in their office in person. Then I told the lady that my mother is a aged person above the age of 65 years and she can not be present in the Airtel office physically as per Government COVID-19 directives/guidelines, however I can produce all the required documents in original. But the lady insisted on physical presence of my mother, expressing inability to process the same otherwise.
Now, I would like to know, shall my mother violate the government directives/guidelines of COVID-19. At this digital age is physical presence of an elderly person in a office really required. If a person who has some disease and can not move, he/she can’t have a sim or the person has to be present physically in their office to have the same.
Your kind suggestion in this regard please.
