Text of Complaint by Ajeesh George:

I am writing to file a complaint against go air for their unreasonable delay in processing the refund for my cancelled flight, which was originally scheduled for 22/5/2023 from Kochi to Begaluru.
On 21/2/2023I booked 3 flight tickets with Go Air for the aforementioned date and route.
• Unfortunately, the airline cancelled the flight on 22/5/2023 without providing any valid reason or alternative travel arrangements.
• As per the airline’s policy and DGCA regulations, I was entitled to a full refund for the cancelled flight.
• I immediately tried contacted Go Air customer service to request the refund.
• Despite numerous follow-up emails and phone calls, I haven’t received the refund to date.
• The airline’s customer service has been unresponsive and provided no clear justification for the delay.
• Violation of DGCA Regulations: As per DGCA regulations, airlines are obligated to process refunds within a specified timeframe:
o 3 working days for credit card payments
o 7 working days for debit card payments
o 14 working days for net banking or cash payments
• In this case, the airline has significantly exceeded the timeframe for processing the refund, demonstrating negligence and violation of regulations.
• Unreasonable Delay and Financial Loss: The prolonged delay in receiving the refund has caused significant financial inconvenience and hardship.
• Lack of Communication and Transparency: The airline has failed to provide clear communication regarding the reason for the delay and expected timeline for processing the refund.
• Failure to Offer Alternative Resolution: Despite repeated attempts to resolve the issue with the airline directly, no satisfactory solution has been offered.
I request the Honorable Court to:
• Direct Go Air to immediately process the full refund for my cancelled flight, including any applicable taxes and charges.
• Award compensation for the mental and financial hardship caused by the delay, including interest on the amount due.
• Impose a penalty on Go Air for violating DGCA regulations and consumer protection laws.
