Text of Complaint by Rajnish Prajapati:

To,
The Hon’ble Consumer Commission,

I wish to file a complaint against Bharti Airtel regarding unfair demand of security deposit for reactivation of my existing postpaid SIM card.

My postpaid SIM was disconnected due to non-payment of bills around 4–5 months ago. Recently, when I visited the Airtel Store for reactivation of the same number, I was informed that apart from clearing the pending bill amount, I would also need to pay an additional security deposit.

I was never properly informed about such deposit earlier, and I believe this demand is unfair and lacks transparency. I was ready to clear all outstanding dues, but this additional charge caused unnecessary harassment and inconvenience.

I request the Hon’ble Commission to:

1. Direct Airtel to clarify the basis of such security deposit.
2. Reactivate my number upon payment of legitimate dues only.
3. Take appropriate action for unfair trade practice and lack of transparency.

Thank you.

Sincerely,
Rajnish Prajapati
