Respected Sir/Madam,
I am writing to lodge a formal complaint against a shop located in front of Kashmiri Gate No. 1, New Delhi, for selling a counterfeit water bottle under the name “Bisahri” instead of the branded “Bisleri” at an exorbitant price. The incident occurred on April 30, 2025.
On the aforementioned date, I purchased a water bottle from the said shop, trusting it to be a genuine Bisleri product. However, upon closer inspection, I noticed the label read “Bisahri,” clearly indicating a duplicate product. When I confronted the shopkeeper about selling counterfeit goods, he responded dismissively, stating, “Due to upper system corruption,” implying that such practices were justified. This response is not only unprofessional but also indicative of deliberate fraudulent activity.
The sale of counterfeit products poses serious health risks to consumers and violates consumer rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019. The shopkeeper’s actions constitute deceptive trade practices, including misbranding and overpricing, which are unacceptable and unlawful.
I request the honorable court to take the following actions:
Investigate the shop for selling counterfeit water bottles.
Ensure appropriate legal action against the shopkeeper for fraudulent practices.
Direct the shop to issue a refund for the purchase and compensate for the inconvenience caused.
Implement measures to prevent the sale of such duplicate products in the future.
I have attached a copy of the receipt (if available) and a photograph of the counterfeit water bottle as evidence. I am willing to provide further details or appear in person if required.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I trust the court will take swift action to address this grievance and protect consumer rights.
