My sister booked a parcel through DTDC from Dombivli to Nagpur. It was a CPU which i needed to be delivered for my office work. I talked to the dombivli franchisee about transport charges and various options. I also repeatedly asked him if it was safe to transport CPU like this. He assured me that it was his daily job and it will be delivered safely. So the packing was done by the franchisee and i paid the charges immediately.
I received the parcel in 3-4 days completely broken and all internals were damaged. I immediately contacted franchisee for explanation but he didnt respond positively. Then i raised a complaint to DTDC and they are still pursuing it saying that your parcel was not insured hence we cannot accept your claim. I spent about Rs. 5000 to repair the CPU and get back to working condition and even submitted them the damaged photos and repair bills. But the franchisee and DTDC are not ready to accept the fact that the parcel was mishandled during transport and it was not a packaging issue. Something very heavy was kept on the CPU which crushed the box and all internals were damaged.
DTDC has accepted to refund 50% of invoice value declared by the franchisee which is just Rs.1000/-. We had a joint call and i asked him where do we get a CPU for Rs.1000 and he started giving absurd answers.
I now want to pursue the case and get my claim of repair amount caused due to mishandling by DTDC.
