Text of Complaint by Mayank Batra:

I deposited one cheque of bank of Maharashtra so that the amount of Rs4000 can be transferred. I submitted the cheque on 7th April during pandemic. Its been more than 1 year since I deposited it. I have visited the bank several times but they always say to call on customer service, I called on customer service I narrated my issue and after 24 to 48 hours I get another call and they say your issue is resolved. They always call and say about credit card and other bullshit but never about the cheque complaint. I visited the branch again and now they say call on customer service and tell them to connect with the home branch. I know the customers might be facing some delay in services and requests during this pandemic but this is not the way that a customer should be treated and directed every time towards customer service then home branch etc etc. I called 2-3 times and tried to get connected with the home branch but no answer from there. I revisited the branch near me and I asked one of the employees to lodge a complaint to RBI to return the stale cheque. He told me that he will send an email to RBI and a copy of it to me. I trusted him and returned. I also asked my college accounts department to give me another cheque of the same amount but they said this is not our problem. Till now there is no clue where the cheque is and I don’t know whether the complaint was filed or not by the employee of the Vikaspuri branch. They say that “there is no proof that you deposited the cheque here, we have checked on our intranet system”. I can prove this that I was there and I deposited the same through CCTV.
