Text of Complaint by Rakesh Vekaria:

Dear Sir,

We were been using Idea services (now become vodafoneidea) since last more than 15 years as postpaid billing customer.

Afterwards we had decided to convert to pre-paid customer as there were more cheaper Data plan available as they were charging Rs.100/- pm for 1 GB data for 1 month to postpaid customer, while in prepaid we could have around 45 GB data for a month in same cost. So we had visited their customer care center Nr Hirabuag in Surat, Gujarat. But even after 3-4 times visit to the store they were not allowing us to switch over to prepaid.

Further, they insisting cash payment for which they denied to give any payment receipt. They also asked me that if I will change my postpaid card to pre-paid I have to compulsory take 3 months plan recharge at their store and when I asked for gv option for online payment for that; they also denied for that and asked for cash payment only. I was ready for that also but since they denied to give receipt for payment, I was been forced to leave idea service.

So I decided to port and have activated Jio service on completion of porting process.

Now, Idea have sent me a bill of Rs 632.56 instead of my regular usage billing was between 250/- to 300/- since last more than a year.  They have charged for Rs 399.96/- for data package which we have not activated any time.

We have already paid Rs.272/- on 11.06.2019 as an outstanding of May month billing vide paytm online payment (Transaction id 201916224481021) and we also made another payment of Rs. 215/- on 22.06.2019 as an advance payment for July month billing, vide paytm online payment (Transaction Id : 67540550879) before porting our services.

But since we have already port their services, they have sent us a over valued bill and repeatedly following us for make payment for illegally charged over billed outstanding. As far as pending outstanding is concern, we were having activated 1 GB plan with paying Rs. 100/- pm. And that is being reflecting in our bill also. For which prorate basis charges Rs 60/- billed to me. For which we do not have any objection. But there has another “charges on data pack proration#” been charged as Rs. 399.6 billed to us for which we are not aware and have not been informed any given point of tie and there has no clarity given for the same.

They are sending me e-legal notice on mail to pressurize me to pay over billed value.

So I would forced to raise a concern in front of consumer forum with hope that small consumer like us will get justice and protection from this big multinational companies.

We request to intervene to the matter
