I had applied for part time job and I received a message in whatsapp saying that they provide part time work. They told me that i dont have to pay anything in the beginning and they woll deduct from the amount that i earn. I thought it was their company and I said okay for registration. They sent me a username, passcode and then asked me to complete registration in which it asks for picture and signature.
I did that too. It a 1 page agreement where it was written about the company. There were no terms and conditions. Then they sent me a few links of third party apps which i have known for years. I told them that im not willing to work for them. Then the man that contacted me said that her team would contact me.
3-4 days later i received a called from a person called Arjun Singh who called himself to be a senior executive from the consumer commission. He told me that a complaint is filed against me for breaching the agreement. I was lost and i asked him what he was talking about. He told me that i had signed an agreement saying i would pay the cancellation fee i wanna terminate the agreement.
Then he sent me the agreement which had one page that i signed and the other page was not what was there when I signed it. Then he sent me a screenshot of a complaint that was filed against me and said that ill have to pay Rs.7079/- or ill have to go to surat court with my father and advocate and pay more than Rs.40000. Then i told him that he can proceed with it.
This company is a fraud and the call was not even from the consumer court from the govn. of India. It is just a call from the people of the learnnearn company who are trying to threaten me for paying. Im not sure what i should be doing now,I am a student I can’t understand what to do so please take a strict action on them.
