By way of background, i had purchase a chair from Amazon (seller being greensoul) on 23 May 2021. The product was delivered to me on 8 June 2021. From the first date of delivery of the product, i had filed a complaint with the amazon customer care for return of the product due to the same being defective and there being parts missing in the delivered product (N.B. It was a DIY product). To this end, i never received a response neither from the seller nor amazon within the stipulated time (despite me following with the seller on an individual level).
After repeated calls, the seller arranged a carpenter to check the product and it was confirmed that it was a defective product. I had filed a A to Z claim with Amazon on 11 June 2021 and was informed that i will be refunded my full money back unequivocally and without any questions. To my surprise, the customer care executives informed me that it will only be initiated upon return of the product (which is the sole responsibility of the seller).
I had contacted the seller multiple times for return of the product and repeated follow ups, i was informed that they have arranged for the pick up on Saturday i.e. 19 June 2021. Unfortunately, no one has turned up for pick up. Now, I am being told that unless the pick up is not being done, the money will not be paid back (the return being the sole responsibility of the seller and amazon and not mine). This is harassment of the next level with my money being stuck.
Neither the product is taken back by the seller nor the refund is initiated by Amazon.
