Text of Complaint by ANKIT MALIK:

I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the recent experience I had with OYO Rooms during my booking at Mohan Villa B80 near Lotus Temple in New Delhi on 30 Jul 2023 vide booking id – U8CJ2302. I am dismayed by the level of mismanagement and potential fraudulent activities that I encountered during this entire process.
I would like to provide a detailed account of the events that transpired:
1. On 30 Jul 2023, I made a reservation for a hotel room at Mohan Villa B80 near Lotus Temple in New Delhi through the OYO Rooms platform. I received a confirmation for my booking and then I paid the required amount online.
2. Shortly after, I received a call from the reception of Mohan Villa B80 to confirm my booking. I promptly confirmed the booking over the phone and requested the receptionist to send me the location details on WhatsApp, which was duly done.(Pictures attached)
3. Subsequently, I received a message on WhatsApp containing the location details. To ensure accuracy and retain evidence, I recorded the conversation with the receptionist and saved the WhatsApp messages, establishing a clear chain of communication.
4. Upon arriving at the hotel on 30 Jul 2023 around 20:00 o’clock, I was shocked to be informed by the receptionist that the hotel owner had disabled the online paid flag for my booking. The receptionist demanded an additional payment of Rs 1250, stating that my initial online payment of Rs 900 would be refunded later. This sudden change in payment terms was highly unexpected and left me bewildered.
5. Following my stay, when I did not receive the promised refund, I raised a complaint with OYO Customer Care through ticket ID – 7397296915. I expected OYO to investigate this matter diligently and rectify the situation.
6. However, the response I received from OYO was far from satisfactory. A customer care executive contacted me and connected me to the hotel owner. To my astonishment, the hotel owner denied my booking altogether, despite acknowledging its existence during our conversation. Moreover I called to contact number (+918035295732) mentioned in my booking details then I ordered the dinner and dinner was delivered exactly in my room it means I was staying in correct hotel. After a series of fruitless conversations, the hotel owner abruptly disconnected the call. (Audio recording Attached)
7. This infuriating sequence of events has led me to believe that either the hotel owner or OYO Hotels & Homes is engaging in fraudulent activities. I strongly urge a thorough investigation into this matter to establish the truth and hold the responsible parties accountable.
