Sir,
I am a frequent traveller. When i go onsite i get a local sim which is cost effective for me. I never used to receive incoming calls fro Airtel or Jio. I get only the SMS which I need for OTP and banking transactions.
This year, they activated international roaming without informing me. So I started receiving incoming calls which incurred additional cost. I have also written to Airtel customer care when i was onsite. They asked me to visit a nearest airtel office or put my phone on airplane mode.
I asked them to waive off the charges incurred for incoming calls and that I am willing to pay them the monthy charges with late fees. However they started harassing me by blocking my outgoing and they threatened to disconnect my incoming calls and sms.
I am sure they used this trap to make more money and I as a consumer should have been informed about the change. But that was not done and i am completely unaware that International roaming is activated. They would have done this to lot more people.
I want to understand if the law of this country allows companies to do business like this. If not, I want they to repay every customer who incurred additional charges due to this.
Thanks
Anand S
