Text of Complaint by Pragya Pathak:

Hi, I am a consumer of Airtel prepaid SIM card and have been using my number for multiple banking and other services. I have been receiving repeated messages from Airtel that my outgoing call will be deactivated if I don’t recharge my SIM. My SIM already has Rs. 100 as balance and they are forcing me to buy their unlimited Internet Plans. I consider this sheer blackmailing because as a consumer I should have a right to choose what services I want to avail. I don’t require their internet and unlimited call plans. I tried to raise the complaint to their customer care and they informed that they will keep deducting Rs. 23 every 28 days from my main balance to keep the outgoing call enabled. If Airtel is so threatened by the competition from Jio I would suggest it to make a better customer acquisition plan and not resort to blackmailing. Kindly look into the issue and make sure that my outgoing services are enabled and I don’t have to pay exorbitantly for it.
