Text of Complaint by Sarang Kothavade:

According to government rules fast tags are mandatory on National Highways so I bought Airtel Fast tag from Airtel representative on NH-50(Nashik-Pune) highway.

At the time of purchase, I submitted copies of documents like Cars RC , Driving License. These guys installed new Fast Tag in my Car. Now after couple of weeks  I tried to access my Fast Tag details through Airtel app , I’m getting message “ Inactive-Vehicle Class Mismatch” I don’t understand even after Airtel has copy of my  cars “Certificate of Registration” which contains all details(like vehicle class, Chassis number, Car number etc. ) ,how these guys can deactivate my Fast Tag account with such a ridiculous reason? who is going to pay extra money on Toll booths for not having working fast tags?

  1. I have the same issue, without any reason I am facing the same exact problem.
    I don’t even find any solution, or as to why this got blacklisted. I always had my amount above 400₹

  2. Hi – Even I am facing the same problem. I have applied and got fastag from airtel in 2019. I have used the same for multiple trips and no issues. All of a sudden I had seen this message in my airtel app” Inactive- Vehicle Class type mismatch” while I am trying to recharge in Airtel payments bank for my current trip. Logged a complaint in all forums and written to top most but no response. Dialled 400 Customer care no but it lands in IVR and no option available to get the call transferred to Customer care. 121 can’t solve this problem. Now I don’t know what to do.Now, For no reason I am unable to use fastag. And I am associated with airtel for 20 years using their mobile ,broad band, Fiber, fastag and what not.
    I was terribly upset with the worst service of airtel in this case. And I am suffering a lot.
