I have a connection with Adani Electricity having A/c. No. 100504875. For Jan-19 I received an electricity bill for Rs. 5250 which is excessively high compared with regular consumption in earlier months. In May-18, at peak of the summer season the units consumed were 258 only, similarly during Dec-18 the units consumer were only 114. However, in contrast, the units consumed in Jan-19 suddenly rose to 519 units.
I raised a grievance against such incorrect readings with Adani Electric Mumbai Ltd. That, upon my request AEML responded by stating that the meter has been changed. It may be noted here that the meter was not changed in front of me or my representative. Although, no steps were taken to rectify the defective reading and consequentially the bill amount.
I have been following up with AEML for past three weeks for rectification for resolution, though to no avail. Now, today, i.e. 17-02-2019 I have received a disconnection notice. This has happened when the grievance has not been resolved yet and that AEML has not been able to identify the reason for the spike in the readings. Now AEML is forcing me to pay the excessive and incorrect amount of the defective bill without the rectification on their part and threatening me with disconnection.
In view of the above, I hereby submit a formal complaint against AEML for excessive electricity charges in the absence of such consumption and request you to please take adequate action against AEML and redress my grievance.
