Text of Complaint by Ankit Periwal:

During my booking (JPS69LPZR) while returning back to my pickup location on 21st Aug at roughly 2pm, I had a car breakdown, where the automatic transmission of my booked car Swift AT suddenly stopped working and the car would not start at all. This was at Amroha district in UP which was still 150+ km from the pick-up location in Delhi and was not at all caused by me. I reported this incident immediately to Zoomcar breakdown team who asked me leave the car at the breakdown location as there was no breakdown assistance available. They promised to look into this matter within 3 working days and report back with the refund amount. After about a month and repeated follow-ups, Zoomcar team has come back to me with a refund amount of Rs. 351 which the representative says is taking into account the unused hours. This is absolutely not fair as the company has not considered the additional expense I had to bear to return back from Amroha to Delhi – Rs. 4000 plus a huge amount of inconvenience.

In the policy on this page https://www.zoomcar.com/policy#member, section 17.7 says that “if Zoomcar determines pursuant to the following validation process that the User is not responsible for the breakdown of the Vehicle and if it is intimated immediately or within reasonable time to Zoomcar, the User shall be eligible for the refund of the entire Booking fees paid by the User.” So according to the policy, since I was not responsible for the breakdown, I should be eligible for the full refund according to your policy.

I possess all the details relating to the incident – the WhatsApp chats with the representative and the private messages with the twitter handler.
