I had lost my credit card in 2018. I have informed bank and got it locked. However, without my knowledge bank had issued a new credit card. I also, had changed my current city in the meanwhile. I had tried to change my bank address but didnt had address proof that time. I called my relation ship manager asking to revoke my credit card but they replied saying the department is different and they cant help it.
In March at time of covid they suddenly charged around 2500 on account of annual maintenance charge. I called customer care and they said I had to visit bank to surrender my card. In the Covid times the banks were not opened so I eventually visited the bank and requested for closure of credit card and also raised a complaint. However, I have not heard from bank. I believe it is a fraudulent practice from bank’s side. The bank is HDFC Bank one of the larges bank. I have not expected this from them. I am writing this complaint as a last resort.
